Will Nigeria's presidential election be held on 16 January 2027?

This market will resolve to "Yes" if voting in the presidential election begins on 16 January 2027 in at least 19 of Nigeria's 36 states and the FCT. Delays limited to some polling units or local government areas do not change a "Yes". It will resolve to "No" if INEC postpones the presidential election nationwide or in 19 or more states and the FCT. The resolution source is INEC.

INEC moved the presidential vote to 16 January 2027 under the Electoral Act 2026. Nigeria delayed its elections by six weeks in 2015 and by one week, hours before polls opened, in 2019.
